Programme note

My second setting of the Evening Service treads a similar path to the first setting of 2009, though perhaps this second setting is a little more expansive and goes to greater length to stress the sensual, mystical elements of the text. Though there is a strong C minor modal flavour to the work it is lighter in touch and design than the former with a wistful, pastoral feel to certain sections.
